First IBBA International Chapter Established in Canada

“There is great interest in continuing to educate and promote our profession”

The International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), the largest international non-profit association of people and firms engaged in the various aspects of business brokerage, mergers and acquisitions, has formally established its first international chapter in Canada.

“This is a milestone for our organization as well as for the profession of business brokerage,” explained IBBA chairman Cress Diglio, a partner at Corporate Investment International, Inc. of Orlando, Florida.  “We have many members and affiliate organizations around the world, but this will be the first chapter established outside of the U.S. It clearly demonstrates there is great interest in continuing to educate those in our profession as well as to promote the use of professional, certified intermediaries in business sales transactions.”

The chairman of IBBA’s international committee, Pino Bacinello, CBI, CMEA, CSBA, of Sunbelt Business Brokers Pacific Inc. and Pacific Mergers and Acquisitions Inc. in Vancouver, British Columbia, says Canadian brokers and intermediaries see the value of being a part of an international professional organization that promotes business brokerage specific education and certification, as well as foster professionalism and standards within the profession.  “This will be of great benefit to the current and future brokers and intermediaries in Canada.  By belonging to the IBBA Canada chapter, we can address the local needs of our members while having access to international knowledge and resources.”

In addition, Bacinello said the chapter will also benefit the members’ clients by raising the knowledge and professionalism within the industry. “Whether people are buying, selling or merging businesses, they can take confidence in knowing IBBA Certified Business Intermediaries have the expertise and knowledge to successfully and professionally handle their transactions.”

The IBBA Canadian chapter will have its initial headquarters in Vancouver, British Columbia with its board of directors from across Canada.  It is anticipated membership will double within the first 12 to 18 months.   Canadian business brokers, intermediaries or merger and acquisition intermediaries interested in joining the Canadian chapter of IBBA should contact:    the Membership Director at 877.301.4222 or via email at info@ibbacanada.org
